He grew up in Newport, RI, surrounded by a very large extended family. Punky fell in love with cars of all kinds, which remained a passion of his throughout his entire life. He and his friends started a car club, The Drifters, where they were either riding in the cars or fixing them! While attending Rogers High School, he was a member of the ROTC, and, after graduating, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and fought for his country during the Vietnam conflict, receiving an honorable discharge. Arthur and his wife made their home and raised their family in Marietta, GA. He and his brother, Tom, married sisters, Sandra and Patricia. He retired from a career with Southern Bell, having started as a lineman and working his way through the ranks to that of an engineer.
Punky was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and archery. He enjoyed traveling and returning to Newport each summer to visit with friends and family. A savvy traveler, he planned his visits wisely to attend a car show or two with his friends from The Drifters. Arthur was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a great friend to many and will be missed.
