Arthur King III, 66, of Bradenton, Fla., passed away peacefully and blessedly Monday, July 4, 2022. He was born Dec. 16, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Mariann King and the late Dr. Arthur King. Art graduated from West Newton High School and W&J College. He moved to Florida in 1988 and worked for the government until August 2020, when his third bout with cancer forced his retirement. His favorite pastimes were sitting down with family and friends, skiing, golfing and cheering on all of the Pittsburgh sports teams. Art was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in West Newton. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Adam King. In addition to his mother, he is survived by five siblings, Lori (Rob) Luppold, Greg (Deb) King, Jon King, Janice (Rick) Virgin and Kurt (Dena) King; nieces and nephews, Ryan King, Drew, Alyssa and Tyler King, Natalie Luppold, Lauren and Jake Virgin and Kennedy and Cassidy King; and numerous great nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY Jr. FUNERAL HOME, 901 Vine St., West Newton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
