Arthur Bruno Kasner, Private First Class of San Angelo passed away on December 11, 2021. Arthur was born on June 19, 1928 in Rosebud, TX to Albert and Irma Kasner. He attended Sneed-Kasner School in Rosebud. Arthur was drafted into the Marine Corps and proudly served his country in the Korean War where he was wounded then medically discharged. He then received a Purple Heart for his time served. Arthur moved to San Angelo after the Marine Corps where he met the love of his life Doris. The two married on December 6, 1958. They had two children, Jerry and Jeffrey Kasner. Arthur and Doris worked together running their carpet business, Angelo Rug Cleaners and Lacy Carpet, alongside his brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Dorthea Kasner. The two retired together in 1992. Arthur was a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He served as the head usher for many decades. He loved opening the church early on Sundays and helped count the offerings every Sunday. He loved spending time with his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed shelling his pecans every year and would spend countless hours doing so. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Doris, his parents, Albert Kasner and Irma Fabienke, his stepfather Bill Fabienke, his brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Dorthea Kasner and his infant sister Ruby Kasner. He is survived by his two sons, Jerry Kasner and wife Libna of Phoenix and Jeff Kasner of San Angelo, his two grandchildren Kaci Griffith and husband Cody and Kleyton Kasner all of San Angelo, his step grandchildren Michael Wilson of Melbourne, FL and Christine Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, his three great grandsons that made his eyes light up, Riley, Kade Griffith and Konway Kasner, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their eternal thanks to his caregivers, Peggy Warriner, Jennifer Riojas and Helen Flipo for the many years they spent helping care for him. A visitation with refreshments will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 11:00 - 12:30 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with interment to follow in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jan McIntosh, Curtis Kasner, Mark Kasner, Terry Queen, Jerry Peiser and Bric Boatright. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran School.
