Arthur J. Corbeil, Jr., 85 of Newington, passed away on January 25, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Jaclyn (Polmatier) Corbeil, of 63 years. He was born in Holyoke, MA on November 16, 1935, Arthur was one of seven children of the late Arthur and Anna (Bock) Corbeil.
Arthur was as a graduate of Westfield State College 1958, he then served in the U.S Army for two years. Afterword, he settled and taught in Pemberton New Jersey for two years, before moving to Connecticut. After moving to Connecticut, Arthur earned a Master's degree, a 6th year Certificate from the University of Connecticut, and then went on to earn a second Master's degree from Trinity College.
Arthur started his career with the Hartford Public School system, working in several different schools until his retirement in 1992. In addition, he was an adjunct instructor at Tunxis Community College for several years, teaching math and computers. After his retirement from the Hartford School system, he worked in the Plainville Adult Education program tutoring those individuals pursuing their GED. He also served on the Newington Democratic Town Committee as well as President of the local French-Canadian Genealogy Society. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Red Sox fan, he did joke that Yankee fans were allowed to attend his funeral.
In addition to his wife Jaclyn, he is survived by his sister Maureen and his children Barbara and her husband Michael Lezon, Arthur Corbeil III, Richard Corbeil and his wife Lisa; his grandchildren, Victoria Lezon and her husband Anthony Citerella, Anna Corbeil and fianc? Thomas Ryan, Sara and her husband Nicholas DeMartin. Arthur was predeceased, by his siblings Lea, Claire, Elaine, Arnold and Edward.
