Born and raised in Ft. Stockton, Texas, Armando was class of 1976. "Mundy" attended TSTI in Sweetwater, Texas. While there, he met his wife, Joann. Mundy was an avid boxer in his youth and was a three-time Golden Glove Champion. He also advanced to State three times. After he and Joann were married in 1980, Mundy attended Sul Ross State University where he received his criminal justice degree as a peace officer. Mundy was a police officer in Brady, Texas and in Ft. Stockton, Texas. He also worked in construction for many years and was an inspector for various oil and gas companies. Mundy enjoyed living outdoors as much as he could, often spending many hours in his workshop or in his yards in Midland and Ft. Stockton. When time allowed, he and his wife would travel out of state and enjoyed visiting casinos and sightseeing. Mundy and Joann have 3 children: Armando Jr. (Andrew Aker), David (Kristina) and Kresa Castillo (Carlos); four grandchildren: Krista and Nick Castillo and Adina and David Dean Villesca, all of Midland and Odessa, Texas. Mundy is survived by his wife of 42 years, his three children and four grandchildren, his brothers Pete (Herlinda) of Lake Jackson, Texas, Raul (Virginia) of Spring, Texas, and Orlando (Favi) of Angleton, Texas, and sister Yrma (Robert) of Fort Stockton, Texas and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Mother-in-law, Petra Adames of Sweetwater, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Pete and Senaida Villesca, siblings Felicita, Abelardo Villesca and Paula Garcia. Funeral services will be at 3:00pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Willowbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 1311 W. Florida Ave., Midland, TX. To place online condolences, please visit www.willowbrk.com. Mundy was extremely grateful to everyone, especially his nephew, Pete, who stayed with him until the end. The family is also very thankful for Interim Hospice of Midland, Texas.
