Armando Colella, 95 years old, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 21, 2022. Born in Akron on September 20, 1926, he lived most of his life in Tallmadge. Armando served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 11th Airborne Paratroopers. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great papa, he enjoyed making wine, sausage, pepperoni, pasta and pizza. He spent many hours in his garden. He was also a wonderful example of devotion to his faith. Above all, Armando loved creating memories and traditions with his family and grandchildren. He was retired from Local #109 Cement Finishers with over 70 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, VFW Airport Post #8975, American Legion #255, Tallmadge Knights of Columbus, and Primetimers.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Angelina; 18 sisters; and two brothers. Armando is survived by his daughters, Rosemary (Robert) Cochran, Christina (David) Thomas, and Lisa (Jeff) Siesel. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Martin (Tricia) Cochran, Daniel (Nicole) Cochran, Kathryn (Brian) Glaze, Stephen (Sara) Cochran, Michael (Mallory) Thomas, Mary (Matt) Edwards, David (Kaitlyn) Siesel, Craig (Claire) Siesel, Angelina (Tyler) Fortner, Joseph and Anna Siesel; 22 great grandchildren; dear friend, Earl Black.
Visitation will be 1 until 4 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle). Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/. You are kindly asked to wear a mask when in close proximity to others in Church until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation.
Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 190 South Maple Street
