Arlene L. Morse, 69, a life long resident of Pratt Road, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on November 14, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Arlene was born in Bennington on August 8, 1955, the daughter of the late Anson and Alice (Harwood) Pratt. She attended and graduated from Mt. Anthony High School in 1973. Arlene worked at Carol Cable before landing at Mack Molding, where she remained a dedicated employee for 33 years. She was a loyal and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Arlene had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of her plants and gardening. She loved her family, and enjoyed Cookie Day, any reason to have a family gathering, and keeping up with her grandchildren's extracurricular activities. Arlene was a member of Amy's Hope, raising funds for The Cancer Crusaders for several years. She loved to bake and was known for her apple brownies, cheesecake, and macaroni and cheese. Arlene enjoyed travelling to Wells Beach, Maine each year with her family, listening to oldies music and watching the Hallmark channel. Arlene touched the lives of many and was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Morse of Pownal whom she married February 18, 2007 in Bennington, her former husband Barry Burdick, her daughter Katie Simmons (Melissa Hacknauer) of Clifton Park, NY, sisters Alison Wyman of Shaftsbury, Annette Nelson (Gary) of East Greenbush, NY and Amy Hoyt of Halfmoon, NY, grandchildren Tyson Squiers, Zahara Simmons and Zavyon Simmons, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Squiers, who passed away November 1, 2012. A celebration of life for Arlene will be held Sunday, December 8th from 2pm-4pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, VT.
