Arlene Virginia (Barstow) Fresia, 97 of Pittsfield, MA died Friday, August 12, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.She was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 24, 1925, a daughter of William and Iola (Cobb) Barstow. She attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1943.Arlene was employed as an assistant buyer at the former England Brothers Department Store for 27 years until her retirement in 1986.She was a communicant of St. Charles Church. Following her retirement, she spent winters in Palm Harbor, Florida where she enjoying golfing with family and friends. In 2009, she returned full time to Pittsfield. Arlene was an active volunteer at Berkshire Medical Center for over 30 years. She enjoyed ceramics, playing golf and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.She was the widow of Andrew D. "Andy" Fresia who died on September 3, 2009. They were married on June 25, 1945. Survivors include two daughters- Marilyn (Richard) Willey of Kingston, NH and Maureen (Tony) Filipe of Ludlow, MA and four grandchildren- Morgan Willey (Mario) Perreault; Seth Willey, Derek (Cassie) Filipe; and Kyle (Kathleen) Filipe. She also leaves seven great grandchildren including Lucas, McLayne, Kristen, Matthew, Braelyn, Emerson, and Jacob; one brother- William Barstow and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters- Doris Guilds and Betty Tate- Boutiette.FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Arlene Fresia will be celebrated Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at St. Charles Borromeo Church by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, Pastor Emeritus. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA are Thursday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The family requests that masks be worn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus in care of the funeral home.
