Ardyth Vos, age 86 of Huron and formerly of Granite Falls, MN, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Granite Falls Lutheran Church in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Visit www.welterfuneralhome.com
Ardyth Yvonne Vos was born on October 8, 1934 to Luther and Evelyn (Bose) Iverson in Slayton, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She grew up on a farm site near Lake Wilson, Minnesota, graduating from Lake Wilson High School in 1952. She attended Luther College in 1952-1953 in Decorah, Iowa.
Ardyth married Greg Vos in Slayton on August 23, 1953 and they resided in Lake Wilson for two years before moving to Slayton in 1955. The family moved to Granite Falls in 1961 where Greg accepted a teaching position. Ardyth began working at the G.F. Tribune in 1970 as a typist/proofreader, a position she held for 37 years.
She was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran, where she served on the church council, circle member, and work group chair person. She was also the chair of the Altar Guild. She also served as the Granite Falls township treasurer for 10 years.
Ardyth loved her family, gardening, playing bridge and reading. She and Greg moved to Huron in July of 2020 to be near most of their family since they had no remaining family in Granite Falls.
She is survived by her husband, Greg of Huron; children Jill (Ron) Hins of Huron, Jon (Nita) Vos of Clark, Wade (Dallas) Vos of Caputa, and Shane (Kathy) Vos of Forest Lake, MN. Grandchildren, Lindsey (Charles) Brewer, Tater (Marae) Hins, Zack and Whitney Vos, Sarah Vos, Ben (Niki) Vos, and Stephanie Vos; great grandchildren, Charleigh and Baylee Brewer, Talley, Tatyn, and McCoy Hins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother David Iverson.
