Ara Sue Langston, 90 of Plainview, passed away, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at her residence. Sue was born on December 15, 1931, in Plainview to Dave and Vergie (Beasley) Anderson. Sue married W.F. "Bill" Langston on April 15, 1950, in Clovis, N.M.
She was hands on with farming alfalfa, cotton, and drilled water wells for a living. Sue loved horses & Rodeos. They even bartered for their first set of ponies in exchange for Bill to drill a water well. She truly enjoyed traveling with her kids & grandkids to Rodeos all over Texas and numerous other states. She took pride watching them compete from a very young age to adulthood. It was truly a joy for her for more than 50 years.
She was also well known for selling vegetables at the Farmers Market. She loved hand quilting with her mom and for the family. She won many awards at Fairs.
Sue was baptized on October 12, 1947, by Rev. Wilson. Sue had also taught Sunday school.
She is survived by one son, Rickie and wife Janet Langston of Brownwood, three daughters, Billie Sue Crooks, Teressa and husband Ricky King, and Christine Langston (Williamson) all of Plainview; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, W.F. "Bill" Langston; one son, Fredie Langston; one brother, James Anderson; and one sister, Betty Wesley.
Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, November 4, 2022. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am, Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
