Antonina "Toni" Ventura Askew, 80, of Dallas, TX, passed away on February 20, 2021. She was a beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, and Friend.
Antonina was born in Dallas, TX on February 1, 1941, to Anthony and Rosalie Ventura. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1958. Antonina met James "Mike" Askew on a blind date and they were married just a couple months later on January 5, 1974; they were married for 47 years.
Antonina worked as a stay-at-home wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed, above all else, spending time with and taking care of her family. She was also faithfully and actively involved with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She enjoyed family vacations, weekly dinners with her cousins, trips to the casino with her husband, and watching Cowboys games.
Antonina is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Rosalie Ventura.
Antonina is survived by her husband, James Michael Askew; her son, Anthony Norman Askew; her step-son, Michael Dean Askew; her grandchildren Gracie Madeline and Grayson Clark Askew, Wendy Michelle and Michael James Askew; her brother, Nicky Ventura and his wife, Kathy; her sister, Rena Ventura Jackson and her husband, David; her nieces, Celia Ventura Morris and Nikki Ann Ventura, and many other beloved family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, March 3, with recitation of the Rosary at 5:00 PMby Deacon Tony Campise at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 4 at Calvary Hill North Chapel with Father James Dorman officiating. Committal will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
