Antoinette Ann Daleo Mabe, 83, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021. Antoinette was born on July 30, 1937, in Beaumont, Texas to Johanna Fasulo Daleo and Anthony Joseph Daleo.
Antoinette graduated from Saint Anthony High School in Beaumont in 1955 and graduated from Lamar University with a degree in education in 1958. She started her career teaching at Saint Anthony High School in 1958. She earned her Master's Degree in Education from Texas A&M Kingsville. She subsequently worked in Educational Administration in the Central Texas area until her retirement.
She met the love of her life, George Wade Mabe, while working in Smithville, Texas. They were married by Father Joseph Daleo in 1977 in Beaumont, Texas. After the death of her husband, Antoinette returned home to Beaumont. She has been a member of Saint Anne's parish for many years. During her retirement years, Antoinette remained active playing bridge, participated in the Retired Teachers Association and St. Anne's Ladies organization. She was treasurer for both organizations for many years.
The focus of her life was her love for her family. She is survived by her brother Frank Daleo and his wife Patricia; sister JoAnn Elliott and her husband Gary; brother Charles Daleo and his wife Alicia; nephew Philip Daleo; nephew Brett Elliott and his wife Maria; niece Hannah Carr and her husband, Holden; niece Megan Freeman and her husband, Matthew; nephew Jeremy Horn and his wife, Adrienne; nephew Jonathan Horn; nephew Grady Horn; and nephew Scott Elliott and his wife, Daphne, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Mabe, and her parents, Johanna and Anthony Daleo.
A gathering of Mrs. Mabe's family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m., with her Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m., and a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. There will be a reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium, Beaumont. Burial of her cremated body will be at a later date. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are encouraged.
