Mr. Anthony B. Arcuri Sr, 78 of Utica, NY and Sebastian, FL passed away on Thursday February 4, 2021 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, FL with his loving wife by his side. Tony was born in Utica on May 25, 1942 the son of Bruno and Mary (Cavaretta) Arcuri. He was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Thomas R. Proctor High School. On September 28, 1963 Anthony married Jacqueline C. Freeman, a devoted union of 57 years. At one time Tony was a carpet and linoleum installer for several businesses in the Central NY area. He also had an amazing talent of guitar playing and was a local entertainer/singer for many years. Later he pursued a career with the New York State Department of Corrections, a job he truly loved. He retired in 2000. Mr. Arcuri is survived by his wife Jacqueline, his son Anthony B. Arcuri II and daughter Michele Arcuri-Lewis both of Florida. Two cherished grandchildren, Clorinda Creo and Anthony Lewis, one brother, Salvatore Arcuri of Sebastian, FL; two sisters, Carol Ann (Peter) Arcuri of Syracuse and Mary Jane (Angelo) Faga of Albany, two sisters-in-law; Jenny Stabile of CA, Eileen Arcuri of Ilion, and Carole Freeman of Deansboro. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and close friends including Tom Borgia and Jim Amuso with whom he shared lifelong friendships. He was preceded by his brothers; Albert Stabile and Fred Arcuri, sisters; Teresa Carvelli and Rose Foglietta, brothers-in-law, Antonio Foglietta, Floyd Carvelli, Gerald Freeman and Eugene Freeman and his son-in-law, James Eric Lewis. Mr. Arcuri's wishes were to be cremated. A private family service will take place later this year. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Sebastian, Florida.
