Anthony "Tony" B. Allen, 91, died Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, VT.
Tony was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 15, 1931 to Bernard S. and Palma Allen. He is survived by his three siblings, Lena Gravina of Virginia, Rosemarie Allen of Maine and Bernard S. Allen, Jr. of Maine. He entered the Army in 1952 during the Korean War where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars. He was predeceased by Jane, the love of his life, whom he married on June 3, 1972 and by his daughter, Robin Kampen.
Tony held many positions throughout the years in the construction industry and was a respected superintendent on many large, commercial jobs including the Prudential Building in Boston.
Tony enjoyed fishing, camping in Vermont and, above all, being surrounded by family. He was most at peace in a house loud with laughter and love. He is survived by eight of his children: Karen Allen of Norfolk, MA; Tami Allen-Acevich and her husband George of Halifax, MA; Neil Kampen and his wife, Tina of Grafton, NH; Cheryl Iovanni and her husband Joe of Gaysville, VT; Marjorie McMorrow and her husband Dave of Johnston, RI; Kevin Kampen and his wife Sue of Naples, FL; Julie Lyon of Brookfield, VT; and Erik Allen and his wife Laura of Attleboro, MA. He was also beloved Uncle Tony to many nieces and nephews and adored as Papa by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on July 1st at 11:00 A.M. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT in the chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.dayfunerals.com. The Day Funeral Home in Randolph, VT is assisting the family with arrangements.
