Annie Merle Holmes, 85, of Orange, Texas, former longtime resident of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away on July 30, 2020, in Beaumont, Texas. Born in Meridian, Mississippi, on February 10, 1935, she was daughter of Roscoe Jones and Jessie (Bunyard) Jones. Annie Merle worked in retail sales at Cato for many years. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, and gardening. Annie Merle was a wonderful mother and Nanny who loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Jessie Jones; and her siblings, R. C. Jones and Roberts Jones. She is survived by her children, Glenda Boyette Forbus of Orange, Gary Boyette and wife LeeAnn of Athens, Georgia, Mickey Boyette and wife Karen of Baldwyn, Mississippi, and Terri Hebert of Jackson, Mississippi; her grandchildren, Lee Boyette and wife Aleza, Ashley Evans, Margaret Kleiber and husband Ryan, Alex Boyette, Glen Hutcherson, Kiel Hebert and wife Crystal, Garret Hebert and wife Jennifer, and Katlin Coleman and husband Matt; her great-grandchildren, Payton Hutcherson, Vivian Hebert, Hudson Evans, Hayes Evans, John Alan Coleman, Klarksyn Coleman, Anthony Boyette, and Elliott Boyette; and her brother, Eugene Jones. Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
