Help us celebrate Annette Marie! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Annette Marie.
Annette Marie Rowe Kleskie, 59, of James Island, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 6, 2021. She was living with stage 4 lung cancer. It had spread to her brain, kidney and liver. Annette never complained of pain or took anything stronger than Tylenol 500mg. It was her heart that ultimately killed her.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Timothy Glenn Rowe and Christopher Allen Rowe; grandparents, Arnold Quinton Rowe and Lucille Willingham Rowe of Alabama and Charleston SC, Haskell Eugene Evans and Jewel Drawdy Evans of Johns Island, SC; Great Uncle John Henry Davis and Aunt Iris O'Quinn Davis of Hollywood, SC; Great Uncle Alvin Albert Evans of Jacksonboro, SC; Great Uncle Henry Grady Drawdy and Aunt Winnie Lee Blanchard Drawdy of New Ellington, SC; Uncle Frank Delano Craven and Aunt Janice Gayline Rowe Craven of North Charleston, SC; Uncle Charles and Aunt Louise Rowe of Springfield, Ill, Uncle LT. Tommy Tompkins and Aunt Arnell Rowe Tompkins of Port Orchard, WA; Uncle Lester Winningham and Aunt Marie Rowe Winningham of MS and Uncle Roger Evans of Johns Island, SC.
If there's a fishing hole in heaven, they are having a great time. Aunt Iris is smiling, laughing and cooking the fish and hush puppies over a campfire. Best food ever.
To everyone that met and knew Annette she was "Good People" and had a "Heart of Gold". She loved her family, friends and all the critters both inside (Candy, Charlie, Gracy) and outside (stray cat Grumpy, free range chickens, 10 or so squirrels and birds. She nurtured and cared for us all. Annette cared and fed them up until her last day. Grumpy and Annette had many conversations. He still comes and chats and enjoys the buffet. The others still enjoy the peanut butter sandwiches and other goodies. We all miss Annette every day. We miss her wit and humor. She enjoyed reading pretty much everything, coloring, gardening, baking and cooking. When Annette laughed you knew it was real and that's not something you forget. We miss it dearly. Our mom misses the prayers they would share throughout the days and nights they had together over the past 4 years. They were a great comfort to each other. Annette had her own prayer friends that would come sit and talk with her for minutes or hours. Talks about experiences and memories in life and prayers. The visits and support from the church groups were, and still are, very much welcomed and appreciated. God Bless You All for everything you have done and continue doing for our family.
Annette was born January 10, 1962, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Bobby Glenn Rowe and Gloria Evans Rowe. She was a Caregiver through and through. From a young age Annette took care of others. Her last job was as a Caregiver, licensed through SC, to care for our mother. She also cared for our grandmother, Jewel Evans. Annette had her own house cleaning business for numerous years throughout Charleston County. She worked doing asbestos abatement, fiberglass insulation on ships and different government buildings and hospitals around SC, FL and OK. She even went to Scotland and she worked at Lowes and Walmart. I guess you could never call Annette lazy.
She is survived by her mother, Gloria Evans Rowe of Johns Island, SC; father, Bobby and Sharon Rowe of Richfield, NC; her sister, Wanda Rowe of James Island, SC. Uncles Carl Evans of West Ashley and around the world; Roy & Jackie Evans of West Ashley; Aunt Carol Goodale of Johns Island, Uncle Richard and Aunt Joanne Evans Stanley of
Macedonia, SC and Aunt Cheryl Clark Evans of Charleston and numerous cousins in South Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, Illinois, Ohio, Mississippi, Thailand, Washington State and Montana.
Heaven is full of joy and laughter praising the Lord. We Love you all.
