Anne Warren Pattison, 79, of Hanover and New London, NH, died on September 28, 2021.She was born in Albany, NY and grew up in Canajoharie, Hudson and Glens Falls, NY.She is the daughter of Minton Wright Warren and Margaret Arthur Warren Creal and step-daughter of Donald S. Creal. She is preceded in death by her husband, Brian Pattison, and daughter, Margo Menger. She is survived by her beloved partner, Horst Richter, her son Keith Pattison and his wife, Amy (Emeny), grandchild Megan Pattison Call and her husband Nick, as well as great-granddaughter Lucy Anne, grandchildren Katherine, Jack, and Brian, and daughter Jennifer Gilvar and her husband, Michael, grandchildren, Keith, Graham, and Emily, and daughter Melissa MacQueen and her husband, Revan, granddaughters Jessica and Charlotte, and daughter Georgia Komons David, grandchildren Makayla and Orion, and granddaughter Tahiri Menger.
Anne received a BA in English with a minor in Biology from Cornell University in 1964 and was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma (KKG) sorority. She married Brian Pattison in 1964 and they moved to New York City where she worked as a medical technician. After a few years in the city and then in Florham Park, NJ, Anne and Brian moved to Hanover, NH in 1970.They also lived at Lake Sunapee, NH in the summer.
Anne contributed to her communities throughout her life and touched many lives in Hanover and beyond. It's very likely she counted you among her many friends.Additionally, she may have been your Brownie Troop leader. She may have worked with you or met you in the gift shop at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.She may have been your Sunday School teacher, served with you on the Vestry or sat by you as a long-standing and loyal congregant of Saint Thomas church. You may have danced with her when she learned to line dance. You may drive by the KKG Sorority house at Dartmouth, that she helped establish.Further south, if you happen upon the little stone church in Sunapee, the St. James Burkehaven Episcopal Church, she was part of keeping it and its rectory open for decades of summers.
Anne was full of energy and enthusiasm. She loved the outdoors and adventures. She played a lot of mediocre (her description) golf at Lake Sunapee Country Club and Baker Hill and tennis at Our Court or anywhere else she could; she enjoyed the games, but it was the people with whom she played that she valued the most. She earned her pilot license and flew small planes out of local airports for years. She loved being in or on the water and owned almost every kind of boat and was a long-standing member of the Lake Sunapee Yacht Club.In the winter, she treasured the ability to hop in the car for a few runs at the Dartmouth Skiway. When every other rational human huddled by the fire, she often went for an evening walk with her friend.
She loved fully. She is loved very much and will be missed dearly.
