Anne Marie Gibbons, passed peacefully at home at the age of 90 on July 18, 2022. Born October 10, 1931 in Bronx, New York, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Anna (Duff) Gibbons. Anne’s family moved from the Bronx to Esopus then to Hurley, where she resided in the family home since 1956 to the present. Anne defined the word family. She was the family historian who knew everything about everyone and cherished the times she had talking to everyone about the past, present and future. It was so meaningful to her to celebrate the many family occasions. Anne was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She was a collector of all things Irish, including novelties which she took pleasure in sharing with all. Listening to music, especially Irish music, was a favorite pastime for her.Anne was employed by the Rondout National Bank where she was a devoted and valuable asset to the local banking industry for over thirty years. She traveled extensively, always had a joke ready to tell, was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and sharing recipes. Surviving are her brothers, Christopher, Eugene (Nora), Lawrence Gibbons and sister-in-law Marilyn. Anne was happy and proud to be the aunt to twenty five surviving nieces and nephews, thirty eight great nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews. Her brothers, Joseph, James and John Gibbons; her sisters, Elizabeth Gibbons and Kathleen Washington; sisters-in-law Florence, Marie, Anna May and Eileen and niece Geraldine all predeceased her. Anne's family is so appreciative of her devoted caregivers, whom she cherished dearly. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V.
