Anne Brenaman
Anne was born in Portland, OR to Margery and Herc (HJ) Laborde. She attended one year at Gonzaga University and then entered the Medical Mission Sisters. She was part of that organization for 11.5 years. She received a BA in Biology from Notre Dame College (CA) and a BS in Nursing from the University of San Francisco. She spent some time in Swaziland and South Africa before returning to the USA.
She worked for the Monterey Health Department (CA) before coming to the University of Washington where she received a master's degree in Nursing. As she was finishing that degree, she met her husband Leon while skiing at Alpental. She and Leon were married a year from the day they met. Their marriage was blessed with much happiness. Leon worked at Boeing and spent much of the marriage planning and building their home on Lake Stevens.
Anne worked as a nurse practitioner at the Everett Clinic for many years and was very active in her church and a variety of organizations including the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Whidbey Weavers Guild, the Pacific Northwest Quilt and Fiber Museum, and the Glen Eagle Women's Golf Club and more. She travelled extensively and was involved in a variety of international causes including building a school in rural Haiti.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Andre. She is survived by her beloved dogs Maisie and Bella; her niece Nicole (Dylan) and two grand-nieces Sabine and Eva; her stepchildren, Mark (Julie), Tracy, Kelly, and Kerri (William); grandchildren Scott (Amanda), Todd (Stephanie), Kristin, Kimmy, Linda, Erik (Casey), Jordan, Jennifer, and Avery; and great grandchildren Emmett, Owen, Quentin, Henry, and Casen.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception (Arlington, WA) on October 30, 2021. The Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:30 am, followed by Mass at 11:00 am. A reception will take place after the service until 3:00 pm at the Gleneagle Golf Course, 7619 East Country Club Drive, Arlington, WA.
Family suggests donations are welcome in her memory to St. Vincent de Paul care of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Arlington, 1200 E 5th 98223.
