Anna Nell Mintz died on April 28, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Nell Mintz previously from Huntsville, Alabama and Pelham, Alabama respectively died at 94 years old. She lived a long and full life. Married to Edward S. Mintz, she and her husband raised two girls in Huntsville, Alabama. Nell worked for the Federal Government most of her career, retiring from NASA where she was Manager and Protocol Officer for the Space Shuttle Program Director at Cape Canaveral, Florida. During this time, she was presented an award that displayed small flag that was carried on the Columbia Space Shuttle in recognition of significant contribution made to the success of the mission, signed by John Young and Robert Crippen. Before working at NASA, she was the Director of three Pre-Schools and Kindergartens. Her award-winning curriculum for preschool and kindergarten was shared at Pre-School and Kindergarten Educators Convention in Montgomery, AL. After retiring, and losing her husband and daughter in 2000 & 2002 respectively, Nell joined the Red Hatter's Club in Pelham, Alabama, Bus Toured the United States, enjoyed outings with friends and family, eating out and having her one Miller Light with salt on occasion. She actively volunteered in community events and associations, most notably with underprivileged children.
Family who preceded her in death: Ida Belle Willmon and father, William Marion Willmon, of Tuscaloosa, AL, siblings- Mae Casey of Mobile, AL, Inzia Faye Reid of Las Vegas, NV, Howard Willmon of Tuscaloosa, Thomas (Will) Willmon of Pinellas Park, FL, her husband Edward Mintz of Huntsville, AL and Cocoa Beach, FL and daughter Susan Mintz of Pelham, AL.
Survivors are: Cathy Mintz, daughter of Fleming Island, FL, grand-daughter Megan Harris from Atlanta,GA, grand-son Troy Harris from Fleming Island, FL and brother Henry Willmon of Killeen, TX, nephews Gene, Ronnie and Tommy Casey, Mike Willmon, Charley Willmon, Robert Willmon, Steve & Ralph Reid, and nieces Linda Stapleton and Carol and Melody Reid.

Nell Mintz will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL alongside her husband Ed.
No funeral services will be held at this time due to the Covid Pandemic 2020. A virtual memorial service will be held at a date to be determined. A pictorial book Life of Nell Mintz will be shared with family and close friends upon completion.
