It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anna McCabe House, our loving mother and caring friend to all of those lives she touched. Approaching her 95th birthday, she passed in her home on December 14, 2020. She was surrounded by her five daughters. She was born in Kennebunkport, ME on January 31, 1926, the daughter of the late Harold Storey and Alma (Hanscom) Nelson. A graduate of Kennebunkport High School, and former resident of Chelmsford, MA, Anna moved to Raymond 56 years ago. A dedicated homemaker for her family, she also taught small children in the Raymond Head Start Program, and worked for 17 years as an antique dealer at Cozy Corners in Raymond. She finished her career as a florist and retired at the age of 75 from Hannaford in Raymond. Family meant the world to Anna, the role of "Nana" suited her well. She embodied grace with a gentle and kind soul. She loved all animals especially her cats! She was a talented floral designer and enjoyed making every occasion special. Anna became a member of the VFW Auxiliary #4479 in Raymond on March 11, 1968. She was awarded for her 50 years of service in May 2018. She up until the time of her passing had been a member for 52 years. The longest of anyone. She was also a longtime member of the Raymond Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Carroll Deane Brown of Chelmsford, MA and Edward B. McCabe and Harry House, both of Raymond. She is survived by 6 children, William Brown of Chelmsford, MA, Diane O'Brien of Alton, NH, Janice McCabe of Raymond, NH, Joyce McCabe of Loudon, NH, Sandra Murphy of Raymond, NH, and Martha McCabe of Raymond, NH; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
