Anna Gawel, 88, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, with her loving family at her side. Born in Eichendorf, Yugoslavia, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1952. She worked for a cigar factory in Steelton, the former Colonial Lounge and the former Peck's Dress Shop. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steelton, St. Lawrence Lodge # 13, Deutsher Quartet Club and the Lancaster Liederkranz. Anna is survived by her children, Richard J. Gawel, Paul A Gawel and Lori A. Sheffy; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren; and sister, Eva Kunz. Anna is preceded in death by her husband, John Gawel. Funeral Service will held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2022, in the Neill Funeral Home Inc., 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
