Ann TropeanoJuly 25, 1925 - June 2, 2022Ann Tropeano, age 96, entered into eternal rest on June 2, 2022. Ann was born July 25, 1925 in New Haven and was the youngest daughter of Italian immigrants, Francesco and Rosa DeStefano Capone. She was a devout Catholic and for many years worked as a housekeeper at the rectory of St. Francis Church in New Haven. Although she faced many challenges during the course of her life, Ann remained faithful to God's word and believed in the promise of His salvation. She is survived by her daughter Diane Wilson; three grandchildren Edward Wilson (Myla), Brendan Wilson (Jessica), Joanna Wilson – Phillips (Nic) and three great-grandchildren Edward, Logan and Cameron Wilson. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Edward Wilson, her sister Christine Capone Gambardella, and her brothers Nicholas and Louis Capone. During the past six years Ann resided at the Whitney Rehabilitation Center in Hamden and the family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care she received there. We will always be especially grateful for the excellent care she was given during the terrifying Covid pandemic when staff worked at considerable risk to their own safety. Their efforts during that time were truly heroic and will not be forgotten. Ann was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was warm, compassionate and empathetic. She faced life with resiliency and a strong faith in God that carried her through to the end. Ann was at her happiest when surrounded by her extended family and she always had a special place in her heart for children. For that reason, in lieu of flowers, friends and family may choose to honor her memory with a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (arrangements.www.northhavenfuneral.com (http://arrangements.www.northhavenfuneral.com)
