Ann was born in Ogdensburg to the late Leon Abbott and Rose Catherine (McEntee) Dolan. Although Ann traveled all over the world with her husband while he served in the Navy, she remained a lifelong resident of Ogdensburg. Ann worked as a teacher at Hamburg High School, then Franklin, ultimately retiring from Wallkill Valley in 1994.
Active in her community, Ann taught swim lessons, lifeguards, and WSI at Heaters Pond was a longtime coach Ogdensburg Swim Team. Ann also coached Franklin Junior High Girls Basketball, and the high school Field Hockey and Softball Teams. She was also a devoted member of the Ogdensburg Board of Education, where she was a past president. An avid beagle lover, Ann worked with Applewood Kennels, where she raised champion beagles. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 132 Ladies Auxiliary. Ann learned her unbounded kindness for everyone from working in her family’s general store, PJ Dolan & Sons on Main St. in Ogdensburg. Ann loved the NY Yankees, drinking coffee with anyone in Ogdensburg, and was a proud mother, educated and successful woman.
Predeceased by her parents; husband Michael M. Sekelsky; sons Michael and Thomas Sekelsky; daughter Ann Sekelsky; and brother, Patrick Dolan, Ann is survived by her two sons, Andrew Sekelsky and his partner Carmella Marsillo of Sparta and James Sekelsky and his wife Julie of Wantage; as well as her loving grandchildren Michael, Max, Kyle, Hannah, and Alec.
Visitation for Ann will be held on Thursday, July 21st, 2022, 4-8PM at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 22nd, 10AM at the St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church in Ogdensburg. Online condolences may be offered at www.fjohnramseyfuneralhome.com
