Ann McNown Mallers formally from (Knox) Bass Lake, Indiana passed peacefully at Keepsake Village in Columbus, Indiana with family by her side. Ann was born in Wabash, Indiana on January 2, 1928. Preceded in death by her husband William C. Mallers her parents Grace and Edwin McNown and granddaughter Kimberly Mallers. Ann is survived by her 5 children: Becky (late Jack) Black of Shererrville, IN, Phil (Sue) Mallers of Crown Point, IN, Chuck Mallers of Greenfield, IN, Kathy (Paul) Kachanoski of Columbus, IN and Julie (Bob) Boczek of Glenview, IL, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her sister Marcia Cook of Findlay, OH, sister-in-law Jane Pautsch of Talahasee, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Ann grew up in Bluffton, IN. She was a graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Manchester College. Married William C. Mallers on December 13, 1947, raised their children in Park Forest, IL, moved to Springfield, IL in 1978 and retired to Bass Lake in Knox, Indiana.
She loved music, dancing, playing cards, bowling and was actively involved with her children's school activities. She loved entertaining and was a gracious hostess. She was a proud member of the Infant Welfare, PTA, St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Park Forest, IL.
Due to the pandemic a graveside service is private. A celebration of life service will be for family and friends on September 26, 2020 between 1:00 - 4:00. Smits Funeral Home in Dyer, IN. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimers Association or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
