Ann Hudak Kepich, 92, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2021. Born March 28, 1929 in Colver, Pennsylvania, the 8th of 12 children of Peter and Mary (Gunza) Hudak. Survived by her daughter, Corinne Ann Kepich Sandefer, Ashburn, Virginia, son, Alan Andrew Kepich, Timonium, MD, and four grandchildren: Christopher Daniel Kepich of Holicong, PA, and Beth Ann Kepich, of Emmaus, PA, son and daughter of Daniel George, who pre-deceased her in 2011; Alyssa Marie and Elynnor Claire Sandefer, of Ashburn, VA, daughters of Corinne. She is also survived by a brother, Andrew, and sister, Irene, both of Colver, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann met her husband, George, at Cambria County High School. They married in 1949, and enjoyed 65 years together before his passing in 2015. They moved to Fallsington, PA in 1950, where they lived for 35 years, raised their children, and were active in their Orthodox church in Levittown. Ann worked in banks and retail finance before she and George retired and moved back to Ebensburg, PA in 1985 where they lived for 30 years.
Ann was a busy and active woman all of her life. She and George enjoyed both dancing and bowling and getting together with friends to play cards. Ann bowled in many tournaments over the years and she coached bowlers young and old to follow through and hit the spot. Ann always had a project planned or in progress, and stayed busy gardening, sewing, crafting, baking, and cooking. Another important part of her life were their dogs: Penny, Fudge, Maggie, and Megan, who kept them company wherever they went.
After George's passing, Ann moved to Virginia to live with her daughter and granddaughters. Her daughter wishes to express her heartfelt thanks to all who met and cared for her mom during the last 5 years. A private service will be held at a later date. Her daughter requests that those who knew Ann to please share their memories, photos, and condolences in a card or letter to her, or c/o Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
