Angus O. Smith, known by his family and friends as Dean, was born on 10/1/1928 to Roy and Laura Smith in Waynesboro, PA. Dean was best described as "the Salt of the Earth" in all the best meanings of that phrase. He was a man of uncommon decency, humility, kindness and respectfulness for others. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family members unconditionally. Dean worked for over 40 years for Bethlehem Steel Company, while also doing construction work on the side. In his spare time, he spent many hours with family and friends at the North Point Yacht Club (where he later became a lifetime member). He was an avid boater and fisherman. The perfect day for Dean was spent out on the Chesapeake Bay on his boat, The Skip (named after his beloved family dog), soaking up the sun and fishing and crabbing for hours. Long after he sold his boat, he still spent many hours socializing with friends at "The Club". Dean is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverly Ann Smith; his children, Steven Smith, Barbara Smith and Gregory Smith; his grandchildren Michelle Kokosinski, Jeffrey Smith, Kristin Welch (Smith), Angela Smith, Christina Roberts (Smith), Andrea Smith, Andrew Smith and Mackenzie Smith. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Kokosinski and Edith Roberts. Due to the pandemic, a Memorial Service will take place in the spring or summer at North Point Yacht Club in Sparrows Point, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Church of God at Dundalk, Memorial Fund, 6 Yorkway, Dundalk MD 21222.
