Angelo "Junior" D'Adio, Jr., 78, of Hamden, died April 12, 2021, after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Kathleen Osborne D'Adio. Born in New Haven, son of the late Angelo & Angelina D'Agostino D'Addio, he owned his own paving company before retiring in 2002 due to illness. Junior was an avid bowler and was very proud and excited when he bowled a 300! He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, Nascar, Discovery channel, jigsaw puzzles and peanut butter crackers! He was a member of the Campania Club, Hamden Fish & Game, and was the chairman of the kitchen at the Wallingford Rod & Gun Club, where he cooked for many club events and was well known for his sauce and meatballs. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters; Lisa (Peter) Onofrio, Jr., of Durham, Monica Scott of Hamden, and Rachel (Melissa) Thissell of Meriden, a brother Rocky D'Addio of Meriden and a sister Josephine Testa of North Haven, grandchildren; Paul "P.J.", Kayla, Thomas, Peter III and Christopher, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Dadio. Friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church FRIDAY at 10 A.M. for a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow at In Memorium cemetery. Calling hours will be THURSDAY, 4-7 P.M. in the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Due to covid restrictions, there will not be a formal gathering after services. The family hopes to have an outdoor event sometime in the summer or fall. Naturally the grill will be going!
