Angeline went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 20. 2021. Angeline was born March 16, 1932, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Abe and Ida Barents. Her husband, Bernard "Bud" Grysen, preceded her in death in 1995 and her sister Janneth Loraine in 1948. Angeline and Bud had four children, Bernard (now deceased), Janna (Bruce), Cameron (Judy), and Walter. Angeline had several dear grand-children and great grandchildren. During the time her husband was Ottawa County Sheriff from 1959 - 1978, Angeline was employed as Matron and Food Service Director, making hundreds of thousands of meals over the years with the help of inmates. She and her family lived in two different Ottawa County jails, and she wrote and published a book chronicling her experiences called The Sheriff. In later years, she began writing and publishing Biblical books for young people. Her website with all 28 of her books will be maintained, kidslettersfromgod.org. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years at the Bible Doctrine Church of Western Michigan where she and her husband Bud were charter members. A favorite hymn of Angeline's was "God will take Care of You." She first received comfort from this song during an air raid drill while attending Christian School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While sitting against a wall of an inside hallway with head down and arms folded over her head, the principal, Richard Post, sang this song and had everyone join in on the chorus. It was a comforting thought for a frightened child about a real air raid attack in World War II. Note from Angeline - Please know that a sacrifice was made for you and all you need do is accept it. Christ died for your sins. Don't delay. I hope to see you in eternity! A private family graveside service is planned with Interment in the Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
