Angelina "Angie" Evans Becker passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021 in Slidell, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 73. She was born on Saturday, March 30, 1947 in New Orleans, was raised in Delacroix-Caernarvon, and resided in Violet, Louisiana. We thought mom loved us until she had grandkids. Her 6 grandkids were her heart. Her feisty spirit and compassion are evident in each of them. She gave us a childhood filled with adventure, love, and laughter. She didn't know a stranger, even Jerry Lee (her backyard squirrel) had a place to stay. Her love knew no boundaries; well, it did; it stopped at President #45. One of her favorite things to do was snuggle on the sofa with her husband and watch scary movies, documentaries, and Chicago Fire. She loved Drew and the New Orleans Saints. Her Saints bobbleheads lined her mantlepiece come August of every year. Those weren't the only Saints she loved; as a devoted Catholic, Padr? Pio and St. Joan of Arc were always a prayer away. She was the Thelma to our Louise. If you wanted a spur-of-the-moment adventure, she was your girl. Her fun-loving nature made her everyone's favorite aunt. Her love and friendship with her sisters taught us how not only to be sisters, but best friends. To the world she was our mother, but to us, she was our world. She had the best smile with big deep dimples on each cheek that we will forever carry in our hearts. She was there when we entered the world, and we were there alongside our amazing dad to hold her hand when she left this world.
Angie is survived by her beloved family: Her devoted husband of 47 years, Louis J. Becker, III.; loving daughters, Jennifer B. Nata (Frank) and Heather Becker (Rob); sisters, Edith Pearl Mixon and Bonnie Evans Soliz; grandchildren, Veronica, Matthew, Andrew, Rebecca, Ella, and Beau; and sisters-in-law, Mary Kay Potter (Kevin) and Jan Rodriguez (Mauricio). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Odile and Frank Evans, Sr.; and siblings, Frank Evans, Jr., Lucille Lopez, Helen Manzella, and Bernice Brown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2621 Colonial Blvd., Violet, Louisiana 70092 on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
