Andrew Edmondson Gilbert (29) of LaFayette, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 23rd, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted son, brother, uncle, and grandson, Andrew dedicated his life to helping others. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a love of history.
Andrew is survived by his loving parents Wade Gilbert Sr and Lisa Denton Gilbert, his brothers Wade (Katie Beth) Gilbert Jr, William Gilbert, Britton Gilbert, and Christopher Silvers, and a grandfather, Hugh Denton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; Lena, Caitlin, Presley, Jaxson, and Anderson. He will also be greatly mourned by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Louise Denton and grandparents, Bob and Ethel Gilbert.
In Andrew's younger years, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 70, Andrew earned the highest achievement attainable, the rank of Eagle Scout.
Funeral service will be held promptly at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at the LaFayette First Baptist Church where Andrew was a lifelong member. Dr. Derrick Fielder will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday prior to the service from 2 p.m. until hour of service.
Interment at LaFayette City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wade Gilbert Jr, William Gilbert, Britton Gilbert, Clayton Underwood, Lance Underwood, Chris Silvers, Jake Burnett, and Brian Bandy.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
