Andrew Michael Elliott, 64, of Charlotte, NC (and formerly of Fayetteville, NY) passed away peacefully on December 2, with his beloved wife Dianne and children at his side at his home, after a 21-month battle with Glioblastoma.
Andy graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse in 1975 and from Columbia University in New York City in 1979. He played varsity football at CBA and Columbia and majored in Economics at Columbia. He remained close friends with many of his CBA and Columbia teammates for the rest of his life.
He graduated from the Syracuse University School of Management in 1985 and joined Price Waterhouse & Co in Syracuse following his graduation. He was admitted to the partnership in 1996.
Andy's first PWC success was helping to develop and lead a ground-breaking training program in Tampa, FL. More importantly, he met his future bride Dianne Burruss on this assignment, who also worked on the program. In 1998, Andy and Dianne transferred to Charlotte. Andy is fondly remembered at PWC for advancing the careers of countless others.
Andy also found time to give others the gift of his knowledge and expertise. He was Board Member of the United Way of Central Carolina (2000-2011), Athletic Booster Club President/VP Ardrey Kell High School (2011-14), and Morrison Family YMCA Board Chair, Capital Campaign Chairman and Executive Board Member.
Andy was an avid golfer, basketball player, and overall sports enthusiast. He was a lifelong SU basketball fan even in the heart of ACC country. After retirement, Andy and Dianne traveled extensively including a dream 2-month stay in Napa Valley. They drove across the country twice (Andy drove) during their first two years after retirement and were able to visit many highlight locations.
Andy is survived by his wife of 31+ years and love of his life, Dianne Catherine (Burruss), his three children, Jake Thomas, Lauren Catherine, Charles Andrew and dog Piggy all of Charlotte, N.C. He was a devoted son to Kathleen (Hopkins) and Charles Francis Elliott and much-loved brother to Stephen (Kathy Kelly) Katie (Kenny) Price, Michael and Brian, Kathleen (Rick Cordes), Noah and Julia, Peter (Carlotta Leung), Mallory, Caleb, Lucas, Finn and Aubrey, Molly (Gino Malgieri), Maddy, Liam and Flynn, and Christine (Harold/Knuck Erbacher), Annie, Ellie, Brett and Gregory and great uncle to Ryan, Grace and Luke, children of Katie (niece and Goddaughter) and Kenny Price.
