Andrea Perales Salazar, 89, went to be with her Lord in paradise at 11:10 a.m., December 20, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. Andrea is survived by her husband, Martin Salazar Sr., her children Martin Jr., Nick, Linda, Rene and Ida. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Andrea was born in Happy, Texas on October 5, 1931. She was one of 10 children raised by Gregonio Perales, Sr. and Victoria Perales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Esevio Perales, and her son Miguel Salazar.
Andrea was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband after they retired. Andrea was always a woman of her faith and stayed well-connected with her church, Our Lady of Grace. She would always hold prayer meetings in the Chapel during the week. Andrea volunteered as a chaplain at University Medical Center to go pray for the sick, as well as a chaplain at the Lubbock County Jail. Andrea will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A viewing for Andrea will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. December 22, 2020, at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, 407 N. University Avenue. A final viewing for Andrea will follow at 9 a.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels, with a service and prayer beginning at 2 p.m. December 23, 2020.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. January 7, 2021, at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th Street, with Father Rudolf Crasta of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church officiating.
Pallbearers are Michael Pauda, Matthew Pauda, Isaiah Pauda, Brandon Adams, Christopher Salazar, and Mark Salazar, respectively.
