Andrea McMullen Wiley Osborne gracefully began her heavenly life with God the Father on Friday, June 3rd. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, and with the love, beauty, and dignity that were the hallmark of her life. She was 81 years old.
Andrea was born on June 15, 1940 , to Corrine "Ky" and Robert Leroy McMullen in Dallas, Texas. She attended Hillcrest High School, William Woods College and The University of Texas at Austin. Upon returning to Dallas, she met and married Ken Wiley. They made Dallas their permanent home where they raised their two daughters, Kristin Kennedy Wiley and Kara Kendall Wiley, who were both Andrea's lifelong pride and joy.
In later years, Andrea met and married Jerry Osborne, her best friend and partner for the remainder of her life. The two were wed in the Church at Horseshoe Bay, where they have faithfully attended and served since their union in 2002.
Andrea and Jerry loved splitting their time between their homes in Horseshoe Bay and Alto, New Mexico. Summers in New Mexico provided a paradise of golf for Jerry, while Andrea built lasting friendships with her mahjong and social groups during their twenty years there. Back in Horseshoe Bay, Andrea loved being a host couple for the "Wildflower Bunch", the "Deck Party" group and the "Christmas at the Bay" formal. She was privileged to be a member of the "Soup Group" and adored the group of "senior ladies" that helped nurture and promote the full life that all enjoyed in Horseshoe Bay. Andrea deeply cherished the people, life experiences, and lasting friendships she made in Texas and New Mexico.
Andrea's lifelong passion was her love for her pets, especially her King Charles Spaniels. The special and gentle care and love she gave to all of her beloved animals was admired by all who consider themselves animal lovers. Known as GiGi to the grandchildren, Andrea loved to shop! Gifting to others, and especially to her grandchildren, was an ongoing labor of love year round. She also had a wonderful taste in southwest style jewelry and enjoyed collecting and wearing pieces from Ruidoso and Santa Fe.
Andrea was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by husband Jerry, daughters Kristin Wiley Gauntt (husband Robert) and Kara Wiley Gaskamp (husband Mark), grandchildren Travis Gauntt (wife Elizabeth), Tyler Gauntt (wife Jordyn), Turner Gauntt, Sydney Gaskamp, Courtney Gaskamp, great-grandchildren Wiley Gauntt and Hudson Gauntt, and sister, Lorna McMullen.
The family is grateful for the pastors at The Church at Horseshoe Bay, Malcolm McQueen and John Duncan. They are also thankful for the doctors, nurses, and many caregivers who gently helped guide Andrea through the final miles of her earthly journey. Special thanks to Patricia, Tara, Ashley, Ariel, Amber, Liz, Eva, Deborah, both Julies, and hospice nurses Kimberly and Angel. The family also appreciates the knowledge and encouragement extended by Home Instead Senior Care and the Baylor Scott & White Hospice Group that allowed Andrea and her family to savor their final memories in the familiar surroundings of home.
A celebration of life will be held at The Church at Horseshoe Bay on Tuesday, June 21st at
1:00 PM, with a reception following in the fellowship hall adjoining the sanctuary.
