Angel Lucy's Funeral Home
At the beautiful age of 80, Amelia Sanchez Garcia (Molly) went home with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024, at her home in Victoria, Texas. Amelia was born on January 31st, 1944, in Somerset, Texas to the late Apolonio and Carolina (Galvan) Sanchez. She had a wonderful bond, and love of all her siblings that include: Paule (Delores), Martha (Cruz), Pablo (Mary), Connie (Chris), and Aurora (Raphael).
Known for her ease ion conversation Amelia never met a stranger. Her smile and laughter were contagious. Her sweet demeanor won the trust, and hearts of many. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant joking around, will never be forgotten.
She met her sweetheart, Jose Garcia, through a mutual friend at a baseball game during the summer of 1959. The couple was married the following year.
Married for 36 years, Molly and Jose reared their three dear children, Bonita (James), Maria (Oscar), and Jose (Karen) in their loving family home in Victoria, Texas. Molly was a doting mother who cared for family and friends. With a real zest for life, Molly loved to dance, sing, but her greatest joy was her garden. She also enjoyed traveling to visit extended family and caring for her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters; Bonita Silvas of Shiner Texas, and Maria Aguilar of Victoria Texas. Son; Jose R. Garcia (Karen) of Victoria Texas. Sisters; Amanda "Connie" Garza (Chris) of San Antoinio Texas, and Aurora Curz of Poteet Texas. Brothers; Paule Briones (Dolores) San Antonio Texas. She was also survived by her 7 grandchildren: Bobby Joe, Mikal Ray Gamez, James Silvas, Amelia, Jose, Portia, and Britney, and as well as eleven great grandchildren. Other family members of countless beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews (both great and great great).
Amelia is proceeded in death by her Father Apolonio Sanchez, and Mother Carolina Galvan Sanchez, her loving husband of 35 years Joe A Garcia Jr., Sister Marta Ochoa (Cruz). Brothers; Paul Sanchez (Mary), and Brother-in-law Raphael Cruz. Son-in-laws; Oscar Aguilar, and James Casey Silvas.
Visitation will begin Thursday August 29th, 2024, at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Molly's celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 30th, 2024, at Faith Family Church, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Silvas, James Silvas, Mikal Ray Gamez, Jose Gonzales, Noel Martinez, Roger Rivera, Manuel Cisneros, Jonathan Cisneros, and Noah Martinez.
