Amanda Oliva Staffy, age 93, of Stratford, CT, and North Port, FL passed away peacefully in her home on January 15, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Stephen F. Staffy, Jr. She was born in Honduras, Central America on March 10, 1929. Amanda came to the United States in 1948. She worked at Underwood Typewriter Company in Bridgeport and later for over 20 years at Schick Manufacturing in Milford, CT. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, in Stratford, Ct., and San Pedro's Catholic Church in North Port, FL. Amanda and her husband retired to North Port, Florida. She was a member of the local Amvets, enjoyed Bingo, theater, travel, and her many friends. She is survived by her husband, Stephen F. Staffy, Jr., her two children, Melody S. Halzack and Stephen F. Staffy III, and his companion Catherine Messina; three grandsons, Stephen F. Staffy IV (Marissa), Joshua Halzack (Nicole) and Frank Staffy; six great-grandchildren, Gia and Stephen Staffy V, Naomi, Lainey and Keira Halzack, Vaida Staffy and many nieces and nephews. Amanda was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, and three brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held at San Pedro's Parrish, 14380 Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL on February 23, 2023, at 10 am.
