Amanda Wallace Goen, age 43, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022. She was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station. Amanda was a loving mother and daughter and had a heart of gold. She had a genuine compassion for people, was an amazing caregiver, was adventurous, and loved the outdoors. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Mary Wallace; grandfather, Samuel George Shelby, Jr.; grandmother, Dorothy (Delbert) Breeding; uncle, Samuel George Shelby III; and aunt, Rosa (Jerry) Wallace. She is survived by her fiancé, John Edwards; sons, Cody Goen and Darren Goen; mother, Carol (Nicols) Alvarez; father, Steve (Agnes) Wallace; brothers, Jesse Roberts and Kevin Alvarez; step-brother, David Majors; step-sisters, Jessica Majors Dollarhide and Andrea Lopez; best friend, Kimberly Tucker; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 26th at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Rutledge with Rev Dale Myers officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Grace Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
