Earl "Bub" McCarty left this world behind and went with Jesus to Heaven on November 15, 2021 at 5:30 a.m. He left behind the love of his life, Annette Tuttle McCarty after 61 years of marriage. They spent those years from October 8, 1961 to Monday morning, growing and loving each other and their well-loved children, Barbara McCarty Williams, Barry McCarty and Kelley McCarty. He was born Alonzo Earl McCarty, February 19, 1943 in Santa Ana, Texas to Doris Gaylon McCarty and Jessie Featherston McCarty. The youngest of three children; his sisters, JoAnn McCarty Lucas and Joyce McCarty Greenlee and her husband, Frank, were left behind also. His oldest son, Barry George McCarty, died on December 23, 1980 in Casper, Wyoming. His daughter, Barbara Gail McCarty Williams and his youngest son, Kelley Beau McCarty are left to mourn his going along with their spouses. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nita Gail Chatham Weaver and her husband, Billy, who he considered a brother and close friend. Thanks to Damon Edwards and Denise Edwards Abraham for being there and stepping up for Annette, Kelley and Barbara Gail. He loved his two rat terriers, Paula Deen McCarty and Martha Stewart McCarty, almost as much or maybe more than some of his family members and they will miss him sorely. His family wish to acknowledge and thank Rachel Hilliard, FNP, Comanche County Medical Center, who was with them every step of the way from the beginning of the diagnosis of cancer till the end on Monday morning.
Earl grew up in Odessa, Texas and attended school there from 1949 to 1961 and was a member of the Odessa High School class of 1961. He worked in the oil fields all around the Permian Basin for many years, beginning as a roughneck on the drilling rigs and owning his own company, Wellsite Consultants, Inc, in Wyoming. His host of extended family, friends and co-workers will miss his great sense of humor, work ethic and faithfulness to his family and the Lord. He never backed down or away from what he was given to do.
