Boscawen----Alma (Bernier) Brown 94, a former longtime resident of Pembroke, died May 6, 2021 at Merrimack County Nursing home. Born to Cyril and Florence Bernier, her family lived in several area towns before moving to Hopkinton around 1939.
She graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1944 with honors, delivered the class history at her graduation and was presented the D.A.R. good citizenship medal.
In the 1950's she drove a school route for the town of Webster, was an Avon representative and did housekeeping for several local families.
Over her lifetime, she waited on tables in area restaurants, most of which are no longer operating. They included Duston Country Club, Hopkinton; St. Paul's School dining hall, Concord; The Horseshoe Tavern, Hopkinton; Howard Johnson's, Concord; Chase's Restaurant, Concord; and Harry's Steak House, Concord.
In later years, she was employed at Concord Camera store as a bookkeeper and was co-owner and real estate manager of Robinwood Farm in Pembroke.
After retirement, she and her husband delighted in spending time with family and their many friends as they enjoyed their summer cottage, many campground visits, years of wintering in Florida, traveling, day trips, dining out and entertaining at home.
In 2009 she was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband of 43 years, Wesley Emerson Brown.
She was predeceased by her sister, Marion Bean, in 2015 and her brother, Arland Bernier, in 2018.
She leaves behind a son, Gary Little, a daughter, Carolee Little, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a brother, Floyd Bernier, and a sister, Diane Hufstader, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial will be in Millville Cemetery, Concord.
Due to Covid-19, services will be private at the convenience of the immediate family.
