Allen Thursten Solemslie

Allen Thursten Solemslie passed away at the age of 103, January 27, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

Allen was born November 21, 1922 in Seattle, Washington to Carl and Petra (Hovde) Solemslie.

Allen wed his dear wife, Louise Josephine Thorkelson on November 6, 1954 in Seattle, WA. After spending time in the military as a Navy pilot during WWII, Allen worked for more than 40 years as a chiropractor and a naturopath.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Solemslie and his only great-granddaughter, Kara Lupardus.

Allen is survived by his son; Keith (Marilyn) Solemslie of Mount Vernon, WA, daughters; Irene (Shawn) Steffens of Mount Vernon, WA, and Clare (Craig) Mork of Stanwood, WA, grandchildren; Peder Mork, Patricia Lupardus, Ian Steffens, Ryan Solemslie, and Alec Solemslie, great-grandchildren; Thor Lupardus, Colt Lupardus, Norman Mork, and Benjamin Mork.

There will be a private family graveside inurnment at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Silvana, WA.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 9, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 S 18th St #4660, Mount Vernon, WA 98274.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

Arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home of Mount Vernon, WA.
