Allan lived in Franklinville, NY before moving to Friendship, NY where he attended Richburg Central High School, graduating in 1957. He went into the Air Force after graduation spending most of his time stationed in England before leaving the Air Force and returning home to Friendship, where he has lived since, spending the past nine years in North Carolina with his wife, Carol, during the winter months. He is a lifelong member of the NRA who loved shooting skeet and enjoyed hunting. He was in a band called "The Golden Hits Country Band" in his younger years as a guitarist and singer. Being interested in history led him to be a part of the Civil War re-enactment division of 42nd PA Co. I "Bucktails" for many years, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Retiring in 2001 from Dresser-Rand in Wellsville, NY he worked in the steel industry building turbine engines for both military and other government contract work. A long-time member of First Day Baptist Church in Richburg, NY as both a member and trustee, his strong faith was evident to any who met him, always with encouraging words and passages to share with anyone in need. A proud veteran who wore his various Air Force hats daily, he will be well remembered for his ready smile, listening ear, huge hugs, handshakes, an even larger giving heart, with his large laugh that could charm the sun from the skies above.
