Mrs. Alice Katherine Hammock Thompson, 73, of Sylvania, GA, passed away at East Georgia Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. She was born to the late Theo Godbee Perry and Walter Ben Hammock in 1947. She worked for many years at Humpty Dumpty Daycare, several more at Ithaca in Sylvania and retired from Dollar General. She was a member of both the Buck Creek United Methodist Church and His Life Ministries, and especially loved church and gospel music. She loved to cook, was known for her divinity and tending to her flowers and her trees. She spent much time watching old movies and Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She will be remembered for her fond love of her whole family, all her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchild. She is survived by her children; Lincoln "Bubba" Lester (Julie) Thompson, Jr. of Burke County, Alisa T. (Rob) Curtis of Sylvania, GA, and Bradley Seth (Dana) Thompson of Millen, GA, grandchildren; Laci (Charles) Crutchfield, Haileigh Thompson, Dalton Thompson, Amber Williams, Carinn Curtis, a great-grandchild, Connor Crutchfield, and her siblings; Eugene Talmadge Hammock of California, Berta (James) Landing of Millen, GA, Robert (Patricia) Hammock of Sardis, GA, Angeline Skinner of Sylvania, GA, and Joe Hammock of Girard, GA, a step-daughter, Gail Thompson Rigdon, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Buck Creek United Methodist Church at 11:00am with Ted Lariscy and Rev. Jason McLendon officiating.
