Mrs. Skinner was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devout member of Dixie Baptist Church where her love of children was apparent through her work with the nursery. She was a secretary for Dixie School for over 30 years before her retirement in 2000. Because of her occupation, she was like a second mother to many of the students she came into contact with over the years. She was a committed caregiver to her late husband for over 25 years. Some of her hobbies included playing piano, scrapbooking, sewing, needle point, and quilting. She organized and did all things for family and dear friends with love, joy, and laughter in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Carrol Skinner and her parents, Herschel and Mabel Perkins.
She is survived by three sons, Ricky Skinner (Jennifer) of Concord, N.C., Tim Skinner (Kelly) of Triangle, VA, and David Skinner (Suzanne) of Hattiesburg; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Skinner, Christopher Skinner, Stephanie Skinner, Kailey Skinner, Luke Skinner, Emily Skinner, and Hayes Skinner; and one sister-in-law, Judy May (Glenn) of Philadelphia, MS.
