Mrs. Alice Miller Neuman, 87, of Woodstock, GA passed away October 8, 2020.
Alice was born on November 6, 1932 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Gordon and Hazel Miller. Alice attended the MacDuffie School for Girls in Granby, MA and then went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the Drexel Institute of Technology in Philadelphia. Alice enjoyed a career in accounting and tax preparation and she attained the status of an enrolled agent which is the highest credential the IRS awards. She worked for one of the top accounting firms in New York City, later taught 7th and 8th grade math in Florida, and then refocused the balance of her career on tax preparation. However Alice's most important job was as a Navy Wife and a loving mother.
She lived with her family in many cities throughout her husband's naval and civilian careers. She was very outgoing and made friends everywhere she went. Alice stayed active and enjoyed golf, tennis, and swimming. She was also extremely organized and detailed. She was a loving wife, mother, and Grandma. Her family and many friends will deeply miss her.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, Edwin Neuman; daughter, Nancy Matthews and her husband, Kevin; grandsons, Eric and Brian Matthews; sister-in-laws, Grace Kelley and Julie Carmichael Miller, along with a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Gordon Miller.
There will be a service on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 3:00pm at Hillside United Methodist Church, 4474 Towne Lake Pkwy, Woodstock, GA 30189. Due to restrictions caused by COVID-19, guests are invited to view the service online.
