Alice Marie, loving mother, grandmother and cherished friend to many, passed away on February 18, 2023. She was 83 years old.
Alice is survived by her daughters Alicyn Erickson, Audrae Erickson and her grandchildren Ryan Hughes, Brendan Hughes and Kyra Hughes whom she loved with all her heart. She is predeceased by her sister Karen Todd-Wilson, her brother Micky Arbuckle, her mother Kathryn Arbuckle and father John Wilson Arbuckle.
Alice was born on October 28, 1939 in Aurora, Illinois. She graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1957. In her early career, Alice was an incredibly gifted hair stylist. She won top awards in the state of Utah for hair and costume designs and was highly sought after by her vast clientele whom she cherished. She relocated to Portland, Oregon and ultimately settled in Scottsdale, Arizona where she flourished as a graphic designer and was well known for her extraordinary creativity, flair, and her exceptional calligraphy. Her talent and stunning artistic creations were the star attraction in every setting where they were featured.
Alice was devoted to equality for all throughout her life and worked tirelessly to secure passage of the Equal Rights Amendment. She remained a strong advocate for women’s rights and believed that empowering women was core to the advancement of society. She was a loving soul who touched the lives of many and will truly be missed.
