Alice Lombardo Hazlett, 85, died suddenly on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Midstate Medical Center.
Born in Meriden on October 10, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Concetta Mirabella Lombardo. She graduated from Meriden High School, Class of 1955.
Mrs. Hazlett was employed by Masonic Health Care Center of Wallingford from where she retired in 2002. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Meriden
A loving mother of three boys. Taught Sunday School at Our Lady of Mount Carmel of Meriden and Saint Clare's East Haven for about 50 years and was a recipient of the Saint Joseph's Medal from the Archdioceses of Connecticut. A eucharist minister for shut ins. She was active at the Meriden Senior Center. Her talents included crafts, painting, and ceramics. She never had a bad word about anyone. She loved her family and always reached out to others saying, 'a lot of love in it.'
In her later years, she cherished gardening and bird watching/ feeding.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne Hazlett (Laurel Lafontaine Hazlett) and James Hazlett, her grandchildren; Paula Dyer-Coffin (Corey), Melissa Perry, (Alan), Chrystal Sturdahl (Jeremy), Rachael Hazlett, and Carol Hazlett (Lesley DeBaccco). And her great grandchildren: Ryleigh Dyer, Avery Dyer-Bennet (Zachary), Marek Dyer, Teagan Perry, Cyrus Dyer, Nolan Perry, Margaret-Mae Coffin, Isabelle Coffin, Caitrin Sturdahl, Dagnie Sturdahl, Cameron Sturdahl. She is also survived by her brother, Ken Lombardo (Carolyn) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Tyrone Hazlett, a brother Frank (Nap) Lombardo Jr., and her daughter-in-law Meredith Hazlett.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM at OLQA, Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451 with Father Dominic Aneato officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
