Alfonso was born to Alberto and Natalia Pedraza-Degollado on September 1, 1948 in Monterey
Nuevo Leon, Mexico. An independent and strong personality from the beginning, Alfonso
enjoyed playing baseball, traveling all over Mexico, and spending time with his grandmother
Soledad Gallegos.
Alfonso was married to Berta, for 48 years. They went on to have a daughter Vanessa and
raised three children in San Juan, Texas.
He served the community as a firefighter and later as a tradesmen working as a welder and
carpenter for 30 plus years.
Throughout his life he spent his mornings drinking coffee with friends, watching boxing
matches, and spending time with his three granddaughters Ryo, Ryanna, and Rylee.
Alfonso will be remembered for his strong will, excellent craftsmanship, and trustworthiness.
He was a lifelong member of the church and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Alfonso is predeceased by his parents Alberto Pedraza ? and Natalia Pedraza-Degollado ?,
siblings Maria Guadalupe Pedraza ?, San Juanita Pedraza ?, Victor Hugo Pedraza ?, and
Francisco Pedraza ?.
He is survived by his wife, Berta A. Pedraza; daughter Vanessa J. (Rafael) Pedraza-Leal; two-step
sons; granddaughters Ryo Chantel, Ryanna Shante, and Rylee Leal; siblings Antonio (Leonor)
Pedraza, Yolanda (Felipe) Pedraza-Vasquez, Elvia (Juan Misael) Pedraza-Gonzalez, Guadalupe
(Angel) Pedraza-Martinez, Imelda (Leonel) Pedraza-Luna, Alberto Pedraza Jr., Noe Pedraza,
Rodrigo (Odilia) Pedraza, and Natalia (Alberto) Pedraza-Limas; and his furry companion Oreo "Chanito"
Pedraza.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary service Monday, January 3, 2022, at
Funeraria Del Angel in Pharr. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 4,
2022, at St. John the Baptist in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens
in Donna.
