Early Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022, at her home in Borger, Aleyene (Betty) Butrum Watkins passed from her earthly home into her Heavenly home.
She was born March 5, 1927 in Dewey, Oklahoma to James and Jessie (Allen) Butrum. She was Valedictorian of her class at Dewey High School and attended Bartlesville Business College. On September 14, 1957, Robert C. Watkins and Aleyene Butrum were married in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
She was a member of the Borger First Presbyterian Church. During her working years, she worked for Phillips Petroleum as secretary. Also, she was a secretary for the Phillips Elementary School and then took the secretary position at West Texas Elementary in Stinnett. She retired in 2002 after 31 years. She and Bob took many bus tours within the United States. Her favorite colors have always been seafoam green and aqua. She loved music and sang with the Jane Phillips Chorus and in the church choir.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert (2009); 3 brothers: infant Jacob, Tom and Raymond and a sister, Alice.
Cherishing the many memories of her, her survivors include 2 sons: David Watkins of Borger, James Watkins and wife Patty of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 3 grandchildren: Whitney Young and husband Austin, Raigan Gorzell and husband Kyle and Ryan Watkins and 2 great grandchildren: Eden and Wyatt.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, 206 W. 1st Street, Borger.
