Alexandra "Sandy" McGrath Medlin of Ridgeway, SC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, with her children by her side. She was born in Washington, DC on July 13, 1939 to the late Virginia Showalter McGrath. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Stephen Valens McGrath.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa "Terry" Medlin Ferrell (Stuart) and her son, Burley "Mac" Macfarlane Medlin, Jr (Maureen); five grandchildren, Caroline Branchal (Dan), Lane Medlin (Madison), Kristen Conigliaro (Anthony), Will Ferrell (Jenn) and Lee Brown (Boyd); and eight great grandchildren, Luke, Claire, and Emma Branchal, Charlie and Burley IV Medlin, David Brown, Eloise Ferrell, and James Conigliaro.
Sandy loved being with her family, especially summer vacations, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was an avid sports fan and followed UVA football and basketball. She will always be remembered for being a kind and caring friend who always put the needs of others above herself.
The family would like to thank the staff at Still Hopes, especially the caregivers in the Saluda neighborhood, the staff at the Palmettos of Parklane, and the caregivers from Solutions for Living at Home for the compassionate care and comfort they provided Sandy during her later years.

A private service will be in Fairfax, VA.
