DEFIANCE - Alexander Fodor, age 85 of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024 at his home.
He was born on January 15, 1939 to Paul and Lydia (Vargo) Fodor in Beauty, Kentucky. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. On September 21, 1968 he married Patricia Ray, who preceded him in death on September 13, 2015.
Alexander was a faithful member of Rock Church in Oakwood, Ohio and had attended Faith Tabernacle for many years prior. This is where he began his journey as a faithful Christian. Other than his family, he loved nothing more than witnessing to others. He worked over 36 years at General Motors until his retirement in 2001.
Alexander is survived by his daughter, Angela (Kevin Barber) Franklin of Defiance, granddaughters, Rachel and Cassidy Franklin, his faith-granddaughter, Megan Jackman, brothers, James (Gitta) Fodor and John Fodor, and his sister, Margaret Butcher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Fodor, son, Paul Fodor, son-in-law, Samuel Franklin, and brother-in-law Earl Butcher.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 31st at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Evangelist Donald McKenzie and Pastor Bobby Branham officiating. Alexander will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by Defiance VFW #3360.
